In December of 2006, this gigantic swimming pool was officially documented by the Guiness Book of World Records as the world’s largest swimming pool. The pool is located in Algarrobo, Chile at the San Alfonso del Mar resort.
The swimming pool is 3,323 feet in length and holds 66 million gallons of water. Not only does this pool hold the Guinness World Record for being the world’s longest, but at 115 feet in depth it is also the world’s deepest. The swimming pool’s estimated cost of construction was £1billion and another £2million per year is needed to maintain it. [Via Inthralld, DailyMail]
