If you’re interested in how to get more “eyeballs” (attention) on your work so you can earn a living with your art, you should take 20 minutes and listen to this talk at Luminance 2012 by LA-based photographer Tyler Shields. It’s quite inspirational.
Sheilds explains that there is a difference between images that capture peoples attention and images that people will actually buy, and advises that you create both types. He explains the notion of first “getting eyeballs”, and how that will allow you to then sell photographs, or art that people want to have in their home.
