The LAM House by Arstudio Architecture

Architecture firm Arstudio has sent us photos and details about the LAM House, a modern home built in the shape of a straight angle “Z” located on the hillside 700 meters above sea level in Northern Israel.

The single level house has a low shadow, which assimilates it into the lush natural landscape and the surrounding country cabins. However modest its profile, the house is nothing if not dramatic in its design. Built in the shape of a straight angle “Z”, the LAM’s central rib is divided between a jewel-box public hospitality area open to the valley and a private family area containing the kitchen and family room facing the front garden.

The central rib connects the two sleeping wings – one with master bedroom and guest room, and the other with children’s bedrooms. At the bottom of the lot, a studio was designed to serve as a separate residential unit. Partnered with the client’s quirky and distinctive choices in art and furniture, the LAM House perfectly balances discretion and power.
