Steven Briand’s “Proteigon” Stop-Motion Short … C’est Magnifique!

After graduating from Paris’s École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, animator Steven Briand became an intern with Partizan, an international production company that does feature films, animation, music videos, documentaries, and more. Over the span of two months, Briand animated and shot this fantastic stop-motion short in which a simple piece of paper in the skilled hands of an almost magician-like manipulator takes on a life of its own, becomes all it can be, before returning to its original state. Be sure to check out Briand’s grad project, called “Frictions,” which mixes both stop motion and live action in a terrific four-minute film.
