I had the pleasure of seeing this gorgeous rocking chair at the Interior Design Show that took place in Toronto this weekend. Made of walnut and steel mesh, the chair was designed and built by Alberta-based industrial designer Brendan Gallagher.
Gallagher, who is currently enrolled in the Industrial Design program at the University of Alberta, said that he created the chair for his 4th year project. The project challenged students to design a piece of furniture based on the stylistic qualities of a fashion designer, and so Gallagher got his inspiration from Toronto-based Bustle Clothing’s combination of crisp silhouettes, patterns, and colorful highlights.
