Talk about lip service. Using nothing but some lipstick and the power of pucker, Houston, Texas-based Natalie Irish paints pictures of well-known icons with her lips. In watching the video embedded on her website, she definitely knows her canvas more intimately than some artists, using her lips as her brush.
With a palette knife, she mixes the needed colors from what looks like discs of clown makeup, the kind you can buy at makeup shops, and then applies the “paint” accordingly to her lips to achieve the desired effect. She doesn’t just kiss the canvas; she shapes her lips, sometimes just the top or the bottom one, to create the necessary “brushstroke.” This girl really puts her money where her mouth is … (Okay, no more puns.)
