Moving Walls Transform Home

Gary Chang, a Hong Kong architect, has designed his 344 square foot apartment in such a way that it easily transforms into 24 different room combinations. Rather than move, he decided to make the space more efficient by having it move for him.

The wall units are suspended from steel tracks that are bolted into the ceiling. Each wall floats an inch above the granite floor, allowing them to be easily shifted around.

Chang believes that everyone should analyze their home more carefully so that we can optimize our resources, after all space is a depleting resource. There is not much use in building massive homes, when we aren’t really going to use all the space.

Watch the video to find out just how Chang ingeniously fit a 344 square foot kitchen, a 344 square foot bedroom, plus 22 other rooms, into a 344 square foot apartment. [Planet Green]
