Modern Boathouse by Susanne Nobis

Susanne Nobis is both the architect and owner of this beautiful minimalistic residence. Located by Lake Starnberg near Munich, Germany, the design takes a modern spin on the traditional twin wooden boathouse design that is popular to the area.

Made from mostly wood and glass, the structure rests on 60-centimeter high illuminated legs. This makes the home appear to be hovering above the ground, but is also functional as the area is prone to experiencing high ground water levels.
