Meet Jim Morris: The 78 Year Old Vegan Bodybuilder

At 78 years old, Jim Morris is surprising people around the world with his exceptional physique. Morris credits the excellent condition of his body to switching to a vegetarian, and later vegan, diet.

“The protein in animal products is so laden with fats and chemicals and all sorts of stuff that’s harmful to you,” Morris tells PETA. “When I was competing and stuffing down all of that sort of stuff, I had lots of digestive problems. I know as a fact I would not be here and I would not be in this condition now had I continued eating the way I was.”

Morris is a shining example proving that a vegan diet can be healthy, and you don’t need animal-based protein to make muscle gains at the gym. Morris became a vegetarian at 50, and later a vegan at 65.
