Upon first glance you might think this is a typical beach resort, complete with palm trees, clear blue water, and sandy beaches. While it does offer those amenities, this resort is actually entirely indoors, located on a former Soviet military air base in Krausnick, Germany (60 km south of Berlin).
Amazingly, the ‘Tropical Islands’ resort exists inside a hangar that was originally built to house airships designed to haul long-distance cargo.
The hangar is approximately 1181 feet long, 689 feet wide, and 351 feet tall. It has a maximum capacity of 6,000 visitors per day, including the around 500 people that work there everyday.
Since the resort is purely indoors, the air temperature is a constant 26°C (78.8°F) and humidity stays around 64%.
Is this German resort complete genius or too artificial? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
