“Practice makes perfect” seems to be the case for Italian artist Franco Clun. Although he was never formally trained, Franco produces life-like pencil drawings that are so realistic in appearance that they’ve been known to fool some of his viewers.
Inspired by the media, most of Franco’s portraits are of celebrities and television characters such as Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Ian McKellen as Gandalf. Besides drawing famous people, he’s also been known to do self-portraits, as well as drawings of cats and dogs.
Although the portraits require very little in the way of materials, there is nothing simplistic about the finished product.
