Hut Above the Clouds on Matterhorn Mountain

At 13,133 ft., the Solvay Hut is the highest hut on the Matterhorn mountain in Switzerland. It is a small emergency refuge that holds around 10 people. The hut is located on a ledge immediately above the Moseley Slab on the Hörnligrat. It is meant strictly for emergency situations, although some climbers use it as a resting point to take in the spectacular view of all the Monte Rosa summits.
