Automobiles are as unique as the people who drive them. With recent trends focusing on low- or no-emissions hybrids and electric vehicles, the Ecco by NAU has thrown its hat into the ring. But the Ecco comes with an added bonus: while it serves as a vehicle to transport its user from Point A to Point B, it also converts into a “temporary home” once the desired destination is reached.
Made of aluminum and glass and measuring just over 15 feet in length, it is an aerodynamic, all-electric, emissions-free wonder that can be fully and rapidly charged at a 240V recharging station. However, if the user is “off the grid” where no supply of electricity is readily available, the Ecco’s “built-in photovoltaic panels and solar sail roof” can harness the abundant energy of our nearest star, good ol’ Mr. Sun. With space for five occupants, the Ecco comes equipped with two sleeping areas, a kitchen, living area with adjustable seating, and a toilet/shower room. Roughing it just got a whole lot cooler.
