London-based photographer Ray Massey had an idea. He knew human hands were among the most difficult body part to illustrate, but what about paintings on them rather than of them? By teaming up with body painting experts Annie Miller and Annie Ralli, Massey was able to turn hands into the perfect canvas, transforming human palms, fingers, and fingernails into incredible works of art.
The painted hand illusion series was created as an advertising campaign for Ecclesiastical Insurance Group, whose slogan read “You’re in Good Hands.”
