Häagen-Dazs Reinvents the Ice Cream Bar

Häagen-Dazs has teamed up with London-based design studio Doshi Levien in order to transform ice cream from an ordinary snack into a decadent dessert. Named “Ice Moon“, the dessert that resembles a cratered moon is actually a densely filled ice cream cake.

The designers tell Dezeen about their delicious creation, “Our concept is almost spherical, so the ice cream has to be moulded in two separate parts and then put together without seeing the join. We love the ephemeral nature of ice cream and design to be eaten; we never had a design meeting before in which we ate the prototype.”

The orange Ice Moon has layers of nutty ice cream, salted caramel, a coating of vanilla ice cream, and a crunch chocolate base, while the white Ice Moon includes layers of macadamia nut ice cream, meringue, a coating of raspberry ice cream, and a pistachio biscuit base.
