Exploding Christmas Ornaments

Alan Sailer has become quite popular for shooting objects with a pellet rifle and photographing the results with a home built flash. We’ve shown you his Perfectly Timed Explosion Photography before, but this time Sailer has honed in on shooting specific objects for his fun series entitled “The War Against Christmas”. In this series Sailer has filled Christmas ornaments with various things, such as fluorescent red gelatine, in order to capture even more bursts of color on impact.

Sailer takes all of his photographs at home in his garage using a micro-second guided spark flash, which he built himself using information he found online. To see more of his work you can find him on Flickr.
