This 4500 sq. ft. Costa Rican beauty, perched on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, its beaches, and volcanoes in the distance, derives its name from the Ron-Ron tree (Astronium graveolens, for our arboreal fans) that sits in the center of the property.
Designer Victor Cañas followed traditional norms—bedrooms and private space upstairs, social gathering areas down—the Ron-Ron House promotes the outdoor lifestyle that makes this tropical location so irresistible. Huge sliding doors open the indoors to the outside environs, and the gorgeous pool has not only a waterfall but a wet bar (!) accessible from the kitchen. Concrete and glass are prevalent throughout—including the glass walls of the master bedroom that provide a one-in-a-million view of the sea—and a cantilevered wooden deck is perfect for some quiet sunrise meditation.
