Cool Glass House in Vilnius, Lithuania

Architectural firm G. Natkevicius & Partners successfully combined history with modern needs in the design of this unique glass residence. The home is located near Vilnius, Lithuania.

When the family first purchased the house, it did not have as much space as they needed. Rather than do a typical renovation, they decided to construct their new home of glass around the existing brick house. This allowed them to preserve the original home’s valuable, historic Vilnius-made bricks.

The curved opening for the staircase is outside of the brick house, adding a focal point that works well with the square elements around it.

This design is similar to the Inverted Warehouse Townhouse.
