Clever Engineering Makes Utriai Residence Stand Out from the Crowd

For those uninitiated in modern engineering practices, this 4564 sq. ft. house in Lithuania’s Minija Valley doesn’t look safe, the way the house teeters unsupported, under which is a lighted carport with ample space for two vehicles. Don’t fret—it’s safe, and garnering all sorts of attention on the Interwebs.

The brainchild of the architectural firm Natkevicius & Partners, the Utriai Residence reportedly belongs to a family of three, one of whom is an art college student. Concrete and glass are prominent inside this ultra-modern construct, including panoramic windows in the main living area through which is a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside, although the bathroom with the clear-glass door might be a little too modern for some.
