After spending hours upon hours of carefully applying water based paint to the human body, New Orleans-based artist Craig Tracy has perfected the art of body painting. Some of Craig’s paintings involve solely human volunteers, while in others the volunteers are merged with a backdrop to add more depth to the piece. This reminds me very much of Alexa Meade’s People Transformed into Paintings.
Craig’s first book Painted Alive: The Fine Art Bodypainting of Craig Tracy includes sixty transformative and intimately provocative works that reveal Craig’s vision, which ranges from realistic to conceptual and surreal. It also features behind-the-scenes images detailing his process. [Oddity Central]
Nope this is not just a beautiful painting of a tiger, it is a painting of a tiger drawn onto the bodies of three people. The piece is entitled “The Last South China Tiger” and was created to raise awareness for Save China’s Tigers, an organization established to protect and conserve the tiger and other endangered cat species in China.

The video includes some behind-the-scenes footage of Craig’s work.
