Bloom – Flower Installation by Anna Schuleit

In 2003 artist Anna Schuleit developed a project called ‘Bloom’ after being asked to help commemorate the life and history of the Massachusetts Mental Health Center due to plans that were being made to demolish the current building to allow for updated facilities.

The project involved thousands of flowers being placed in the old hallways. All of the flowers were in bloom at the same time, but each hallway held a different type of flower. You can check out the official website for the project here. Via Colossal

Each hallway had a different type of flower. Each was a different stretch of color. The axes of the building, its dizzying historic layout, were recognized individually. [/quote]
