Artist Paints Distorted Faces Throughout Streets of Brazil

Brazilian street artist Andre Muniz Gonzaga has been transforming irregular surfaces throughout the streets of Brazil and beyond into interestingly unusual distorted characters.

His portraits take place on degraded, run-down and porous surfaces at carefully chosen public spaces. When on site, Gonzaga works with the contours and shapes of each surface and then adds facial features to create unusual characters. You can see much more of his work over on Flickr.

If you enjoy Gonzaga’s work, be sure to also check out the work of Nikita Nomerz who makes old buildings come alive by painting facial features on the façade.
