Anatomical Cross-Sections Made With Tissue Paper

Lisa Nilsson‘s tissue paper illustrations are a delicate work of art. Using Japanese mulberry paper and the gilded edges of old books, Lisa creates anatomical cross-sections of the human body. The pieces for her ‘Tissue Series‘ are created from a technique called quilling or paper filigree, which involves the rolling and shaping of narrow strips of paper. [Juxtapoz]
