The Form 1 is an affordable high-resolution 3D printer that just might make 3D printers a mainstay on the desktop of every designer. Created by Formlabs, the 3D printer combines high-end stereolithography technology and a seamless user experience at a price affordable to the professional designer, engineer and maker.
The Form 1 can print layers as thin as 25 microns with features as small as 300 microns in a build volume of 125 x 125 x 165 mm. The software provides a simple, intuitive user experience, allowing you to send jobs to the printer in just a few clicks. The software is also able to generate thin, breakable support structures that serve their purpose during printing but are easily removed afterward.
With 16 days left to go, the Form 1 has already received over $1.8 million in funding on Kickstarter, which is well over the team’s original goal of $100,000.
