“Casa a Morchiuso” is located on the hillside of Erba, Italy overlooking Lake Como. The residence which was built in the 1970s was redesigned by Italian firm Marco Castelletti. A wooden screen was wrapped around the home’s exterior protecting the spaces within from direct sunlight while still allowing a cool breeze through, and the original pitched roof was replaced with a flat plane roof.
The walls surrounding the swimming pool provide a unique design feature, allowing one to float in the water surrounded by the sky alone. The space must provide for some interesting acoustics.
